In 1959, DOW Electronics was founded by three partners Doc Blower, Oscar Carter, and Bernie Wagman. As the west coast of Florida’s premier electronic repair parts and off-air equipment distributor, DOW Electronics quickly established themselves as the dealer’s choice in distribution. In 1974, the company was purchased by brothers Phil and Jason Decker, and within five years DOW had expanded to six locations serving the entire state of Florida
In 1982, Carol Yodzis and her husband Chip Yodzis joined her father, Phil Decker and through the 1980’s, 1990’s, and 2000’s expanded the business to serve dealers throughout eleven Southern states, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean, expanding the business into five core industry verticals: Satellite Television, Satellite Broadband, VoIP, Car Stereo & Integration, Consumer Electronics & Custom Integration.
As DOW welcomes the third generation into the family business with the additions of Chip and Carol’s son John Yodzis and daughter Sarah Yodzis, DOW Electronics launches into the future with a continued focus on expansion and on products and services that contribute to the adoption of the “connected home” and “Internet of Things” lifestyle.
